Install troubleshooting
- Use 64-bit Windows 10 or 11.
- Run the installer as an administrator when Windows asks.
- SmartScreen / unknown publisher: the installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows will warn about an unknown publisher. If you trust the download, choose More info → Run anyway. If Windows still blocks it, download again from the download page and verify the SHA-256 checksum listed there.
- After install, look for Printwhisk in your normal print dialog (File → Print).
- Logs:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Printwhisk\install.log(installer) andcompanion.log(background app). Re-run the installer if the printer is missing. - Restart the companion: Task Scheduler → Printwhisk Companion → Run, or sign out and back in.
Print job not accepted
Printwhisk needs a PDF from Windows. The installer registers an IPP printer that converts jobs to PDF automatically. If you see a browser tab about an unreadable print job, reinstall from /download so the IPP printer is recreated (do not use a manually added TCP port).
Printing a letter
- Print from any app and choose Printwhisk.
- The first print opens onboarding in your browser.
- Create an account, add your mailing address, add wallet funds, then confirm the letter.
- Your outbox shows the 10-minute cancellation window before the letter goes to production.
Refunds, cancellation, and delivery issues
You can cancel from your outbox during the 10-minute hold. If the hold has passed, email support@printwhisk.com and include the email address on your account plus the letter title or approximate print time. The full rules are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
